Scuppernong Books opened in downtown Greensboro in 2013 and has
served as a literary center and community gathering spot ever since. We specialize
in literary fiction, poetry and contemporary issues, and we are known for major
events like WORDSOMNIA: A 24 HOUR READING, Banned Books Reading Day, Black
Mountain College Festival, A Year of Melville, and hundreds of other author
events. Writers such as Lee Smith, Allan Gurganus, Natalie Goldberg, Peter
Coyote, Jacqueline Woodson, Fred Chappell and Wiley Cash have all appeared
here. With a full wine and coffee bar and a cafe menu, Scuppernong Books is a
destination for the entire community.
